ONLINE GATHERING
Before the Conversation Gets Harder: Understanding Your Parent's Housing Options Together
This is a free, live zoom call, held every Thursday at 7 p.m. Eastern. Register once and come to any session. There's no deadline and no pressure to show up before you're ready.
This is for adult children who are somewhere in the middle — not in crisis yet, but aware that something is coming. It's not a lecture or a sales pitch. It's a real conversation with room for questions, shared experiences, and honest information about what's actually available for your parents in New Hampshire.
T H U R S D A Y S 7 PM EST
We can walk through three categories of housing options that most families never fully explore, such as:
- Staying put with support. What it actually requires, when it works, and when families tell themselves it's working longer than it really is.
- Moving somewhere with help built in. The real differences between 55+ communities, independent living, assisted living, CCRCs, and memory care, and what those distinctions actually mean for your family.
- Collaborating with loved ones. Moving in together, moving closer, and options most people haven't considered, including the dynamics that need to be worked out before any decision gets made.
Most families leave conversations like this just feeling like they got information but not clarity.
That's not the goal here.
The goal is for you to leave feeling less alone in this. Most people sitting where you are right now are carrying the same silent worry, and most of them haven't said it out loud yet either.
You'll leave with a clearer picture of where you are in your unique process and what your options actually are. This is not a list of things to research later, but a real conversation about what fits your family's situation right now.
And hopefully, you will leave with at least one idea for how to have a better, more honest, and more productive conversation with your parents or siblings than you’ve had so far.
This is a circle, not a presentation. You're welcome to come with the specific thing that's keeping you up at night, the conversation you've been dreading, or the situation you can't quite figure out how to describe. Others in the group may have already been where you are. They might have something to offer. You might have something to offer someone else without even realizing it yet. The format is loose enough for the real back-and-forth, and for someone to say "we went through something similar and here's what we wish we'd known," and for the kind of clarity that sometimes only comes from hearing yourself say something out loud in a room where people actually understand what you mean.
About the Host
Hannah Cole has spent years working directly alongside older adults and their families — first as a caregiver, now through real estate and transition planning. She holds the Senior Real Estate Specialist® designation and the Certified Relocation & Transition Specialist™ credential, and works specifically with NH families navigating housing changes.
The part of this work she keeps returning to is the conversation before the decision — when families are trying to figure out what's even possible, what their parents actually want, and how to talk about it without it turning into a fight. That's what this gathering is built around.
After the group conversation, if you want to talk through your family's specific situation, Hannah offers a free one-on-one conversation with no pressure, and no sales pitch.
It’s just a chance to ask the questions you didn't get to ask during the session, or to figure out whether working with Hannah on a real estate transition is what your family needs right now.
